Arizona-based artist Lauren Cummings paints in oil on wood panel and canvas. Initial explorations of the spiritual landscape began in midst of a summer semester in Japan while pursuing a BFA in Painting from the Tyler School of Art (‘18). Her work evolved with the influence of Shinto, sacred spaces in high alpine ranges, and a practice with presence through plein air. Her work has exhibited notably in the Rittenhouse Square Fine Arts Show in Philadelphia as a student exhibitor and most recently around art fairs in Salt Lake City, Utah, where she resided for three years before moving to the Verde Valley in 2024. Lauren currently maintains an active studio practice at the Jerome Art Center.
